PlayStation Leaker Claims That GTA 6 Might Be Delayed Again, But There’s A Silver Lining

Earlier this year, Rockstar confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 had been delayed to May 26, 2026; however, if leakers are correct, we might be waiting even longer.

Millie A, who has a proven track record with PlayStation (hinting at the Wolverine game before its announcement, and Lego 2K Drive a year prior), alleges that there are “internal talks” about the game being pushed back to September.

Planned release: May 2026, but internal talks suggest a possible slip to Sep.

Interestingly, GTA forums user GameRoll, who revealed Lucia and Jason’s last names ahead of the second trailer, recently claimed that “Chapter 5 is in development hell” and that a huge amount of it had been cut to be reworked. If true, that would certainly explain murmurs of another delay.

“I have no proof of any of this information other than it’s all come from the same exact source who told me Jason and Lucia’s last names,” they said, urging fans to take the rumour with a grain of salt. “It is not a direct source. They claim to be the friend of a Rockstar developer.”

GTA 6 Reportedly Won’t Be $80

While a possible delay might be disappointing, it’s not all bad news. Millie A also claimed that Rockstar won’t be following Mario Kart World’s example and will instead launch GTA 6 at the standard $70 (or £69.99), with a Deluxe Edition priced at £89.99 and a more expensive Premium Edition at £109.99.

Many have been worried that Take-Two would solidify $80 as the new triple-A price point, but if GTA 6 does launch at $70, then Mario Kart World would appear increasingly as the outlier, rather than the norm, given that EA and Xbox have likewise doubled down on $70 games.

They claim that the PC version will launch around “Late 2027, Spring 2028”.

As for what the pricier versions include, Millie A claims that the Deluxe Edition will grant you early access to the new GTA Online, and the Premium Edition “first GTA Online access”, presumably meaning even earlier.

And if you’re wondering why a PlayStation leaker would have information on a Rockstar game, the last part of their tweet might give us the answer; they allege that there will be GTA 6 console bundles, and “PS5/Pro sales promos post-launch”.
